Profile

I am an experienced commercial  litigator at K&L Gates, having practised in all aspects of dispute resolution,  including formal legal proceedings (litigation and arbitration) as well as  informal dispute resolution processes such as mediation and expert determination.  My practice focusses on construction, resources (oil and gas, mining  services) and sports disputes. I advise and represent clients in relation to  contractual disputes, construction and project issues, tortious matters,  joint venture disputes, regulatory inquiries and investigations.

Some of the more notable cases  that I have been involved in most recently include acting for an aged care  facility in an expert determination in relation to defective building works,  and advising a listed transport company, MaxiTRANS, in relation to a  contractual dispute over a failed technological project. I have also recently  been involved in matters involving Tennis Australia, Global Rapid Rugby,  Nike, the WA Football Commission and Cricket Australia.

I am the immediate past President  of the Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Association.  I am regularly appointed by sports to serve  as a member or chair of disciplinary and grievance tribunals and appeal  committees.

Personal Comment

I am excited that Immediation  presents an opportunity for commercially-minded clients to resolve disputes  at an early juncture and in a format that avoids some of the inefficiencies  of the traditional mediation process.
