Profile

I am a recently retired partner and the former Head of the Trade Marks Practice of the global firm, Herbert Smith Freehills.  Earlier in my career, I was based in Hong Kong for 8 years managing trade mark matters throughout East Asia.  

I have over 3 decades of specialisation and experience in the field of trade marks.  My experience is global and I have managed matters in 135 countries, with a particular focus in Australia and Asia.  I have acted for clients in all industries including banking and retail, media, telecommunications, property, healthcare, food and beverage, advanced manufacturing, fashion and homewares. 

I have strong interests in leadership, diversity, innovation, well-being in the work place and giving back in the pro bono space. Having devoted over 3 decades to busy professional roles, I am currently engaged in mediation only and am enjoying a short and re-energising rest from other formal roles.

Personal Comment

I am passionate about and highly skilled at resolving disputes without litigation.  In my 32 years of law, I have never had a matter litigate to trial.
