What's included in the Core Platform?

A single online platform equipped with all the fundamental tools and processes to completely digitise your legal environment. Configurable as a digital mediation suite or digital arbitration suite.
Digital mediation suite

Video conference mimics physical mediation experience; ensuring that the mediator has control over the participants in the room and can move them around as required; without making mistakes which cause privacy concerns; mediation is not recorded by design.

Digital hearing room

Judges, associates or arbitrators have complete control over the proceedings. They manage the audio, video and chat of participants and ensure that no-one moves around without permission. The authority and presence of the judicial officer or arbitrator is thereby preserved.

Secure encrypted video

Ensure the security; privacy and confidentiality of your cases; uphold your ethical obligations; no zoom bombing.

Virtual backgrounds

Ensure the security and privacy of your home; present a professional image.

Witness access control

Ensures that the witness cannot see documents and materials uploaded so that their testimony is protected.

Preliminary conferences

Cases are set up so that you can easily hold preliminary conferences in the same place; no need to spend time setting up other systems.

Video recording

Enables automated video recording of hearings and arbitrations (main room only).

Quick conference

For when you don't want to set up a confidential legal case, quickly create a conference link that can be shared broadly.

Advanced private rooms

Platform configures legal party (or client-lawyer teams) to be moved in and out of rooms seamlessly without making a mistake and putting wrong person in wrong room; it also understands multi-party matters with multiple plaintiffs and multiple defendants.

Public and private chat

Messages can penetrate private rooms ensuring you can communicate easily when someone is in a private room; chat remains even if you leave room and come back.

Party chat

Party chat will ensure that legal parties (client-lawyer teams) can easily and seamlessly communicate making sure that by design no mistake can be made; enable lawyers to communicate with counsel/attorneys making submissions without using alternative methods of communication.

Whiteboard

Brainstorm and create issues lists easily; all of the parties can annotate the whiteboard for convenience during meetings; mimics real life mediation.

Dial out

Enables administrators to dial out to participants with one click; in particular useful where there are low bandwidth issues or inability for people to access (e.g. low socio economic bracket).

Screensharing

Screensharing functionality can be configured as required in terms of access to participants. Desktop devices are recommended for an optimal experience.

Livestreaming

Enables courts and tribunals to provide open justice; with the judicial officer in control of a seamless livestream link. Also useful for large arbitrations where there are extended viewers who do not need to be in the arbitration room. No need for fiddly set up; automatically available for hearings or arbitrations.

Automated invitations

Single invitation for each user, reduces security risk; can require multi-factor authentication.

Matter set up

Matter is set up with legal party teams pre-determined; enables correct terminology to be used and also enhanced security; select matter type.

Dashboard and document preload

Dashboard enables all participants in the matter eg legal teams to view all of their matters and to upload documents in advance for complete control and minimum stress.

Evidence management

Enables the judicial officer or neutral party to control evidence that has been uploaded; have it annotated and saved as evidence; ensure that only the right people see the right materials and documents.

Individualised access links

Ensure that only invited participants are present; and that legal party teams are correctly set up. Ensure ease of access for participants.

Free access for participants

Ensure ease of access for others.

Create unlimited matters

Value for money.

Document upload and sharing

Enables the clients and lawyer teams to seamlessly share documents between themselves privately either before or during a matter and also share them with the other side; can organise themselves in advance; documents can be put into folders for superior organisation.

Court book or Tribunal book

All of the materials required are centralised in one place rather than needing to use multiple platforms.

Document co-drafting

Pass the pen co-drafting allows the lawyers to feel at home; to be able to draft and finalize documents during the video conference; able to co-draft without losing formatting of the document, without leaving the security of the encrypted environment; drafting remains even if you leave the conference.

Settlement agreement drafting

Enables speedy resolution for matters during the mediation and avoids the back and forth of documents following a matter; get the case done and dusted then and there.

Drafting of orders

Judges, registrars and arbitratrors can co-draft with counsel inside the case, reducing the need for correspondence outside of the proceeding; sealed orders can be made available inside the matter to reduce the need for correspondence between associates and legal counsel.

Document annotation

Enables documents that have been uploaded to be commented on and saved down again; enables the mimicking of the witness annotating a document during testimony.

Encrypted e-signing with customizable execution clauses

Seamlessly finalize and sign documents during the matter; including with people who are not in the room; ensure that the execution clauses are complete and accurate for binding agreements; make sure that you don't lose the deal once you leave the video conference.

Templated settlement agreements

Allow self-represented litigants to complete and sign documents; knowing that they are not adversely affected by not having legal representation; can easily follow the creation of the settlement agreement; makes the process easier and safer for lawyers who may not be litigators; enabling them to retain control of more cases.

“I was involved as a Co-Mediator in a transnational dispute involving parties in the United States and New Zealand. For various reasons associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, it was always going to be a complex exercise for a mediation involving 15 participants (in three groups of parties) in different countries to be conducted easily. Although Immediation was contacted less than a week before the mediation was held, with excellent technical support my Co-Mediator (in the United States) and I were able to run a mediation over three days seamlessly. There were no technical issues with the Immediation Platform. I recommend the platform for any complex mediation of this type.”

- The Hon Paul Heath QC, Barrister, Arbitrator and Mediator. Former High Court judge of New Zealand

“Sport NZ is proud to have partnered with Immediation to establish the first system wide Sport and Recreation Complaints and Mediation Service in Aotearoa, New Zealand. The quality of their team, commitment to innovation and belief in partnership made Immediation NZ an obvious choice for this new and complex service that our sector has needed for so long.”

- Jennah Wootten, General Manager, Sport NZ

“I used Immediation for the first time in an international mediation involving parties in New Zealand and Texas. The platform is fabulous – everyone that used it agrees that the system works really well. It’s an objective and supportive space to mediate digitally, and the cost of the platform is minimal. I recommend Immediation for any digital mediation or hearing.”

- Law Firm Director

‘’Great Clerks who are really helpful, enhancements under way such as doc(ument) sharing and order creation are a big help. It's the closest that I can get to face to face.’’

- Senior Member, Victorian Civil & Administrative Tribunal (VCAT)

“In Federal Court, the mediation process is supported by secure Immediation video conferences, bringing together participants, who can share their screens, attach documents, and exchange shared or private chat messages. Private conference rooms enable Mediators to convene with parties for confidential discussions, and more broadly Immediation has supported conferences having dozens of participants.’’

- Federal Court of Australia, NSW Registry

- Theo Kapodistrias, Tasmanian Ambassador

"I found Immediation's platform to be intuitive and high quality. I would recommend it as an extremely efficient and cost effective dispute resolution mechanism compared to a face to face mediation."

- Justin Coss, Vice President, Association of Corporate Counsel of Australia

"Immediation is a rare and welcome innovation in the legal space - an externally focussed platform to assist in achieving a key business outcome: the effective resolution of disputes - rather than simply a tool for streamlining internal processes. The platform is easy to use and supports the parties to drill down into the key issues and resolve them promptly and efficiently."

- Michael Tropea, General Counsel at AIA

"Immediation is a useful and innovative way to resolve disputes - it strikes the right balance between the impersonality of a teleconference and the stress of a formal hearing."

- Corban Hicks, Former Mission Australia Business Partner

"Immediation is a highly professional and cost-effective service that provides a very accessible resolution mechanism for appropriate cases."

- Trudy Steedman, Chief Counsel, Rio Tinto

"As a law firm partner, Immediation is a great solution for offering clients a cost-effective and quick alternative to traditional courtroom litigation. It is also an excellent digital tool for negotiating large commercial transaction deals.  The seamless technology and its intuitive design means that it is easy for anyone to use, no matter your background."
