Profile
I am a Partner at King Wood & Mallesons in the litigation and dispute resolution team. I am an experienced litigator with some 31 years of practice (22 years as a partner). I have acted in all manner of financially distressed situations including liquidation, provisional liquidation, receivership, mortgagee in possession, voluntary administration, deeds of company arrangement, schemes of arrangement, informal workouts and a range of matters associated with corporate restructurings and insolvencies.
My work otherwise involves strategic and cost-effective commercial dispute resolution, including litigation in all court jurisdictions, negotiation and mediation. I practise in a wide variety of areas which include banking, contract disputes, professional negligence, partnership disputes and corporate regulation. I was named the Best Lawyers' 2013 Melbourne Insolvency and Reorganization Lawyer of the Year. I have also been continuously identified, over the past 10 years, as a leader in my fields by the other independent legal surveys (IFLR 1000, APL 500 and Chambers Global Guide).
I am a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Australia and the Law Council of Australia (Business Law Section).
Personal Comment
I joined the Immediation Panel because I truly believe that sustainable dispute resolution requires the parties to have a safe environment in which to responsibly ventilate their points of view, to respectfully hear the other view, and to find their own middle ground.
