Renowned for his expertise in construction law, John is a leading domestic and international arbitrator, commercial mediator and adjudicator. 

John has practised in New Zealand, London and Hong Kong, where he advised on various information and communications technology, health and wastewater, energy, engineering, dispute resolution and construction projects.  

Since becoming a Barrister in 2003, John has been involved in over 100 arbitrations, adjudications and commercial mediations. Notably, John was appointed to arbitrate a multi-million dollar land settlement dispute between the Crown and iwi.
