About Ghania
I am an NMAS accredited Mediator, a Family Law Arbitrator (AIFLAM), an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with specialised training in “meeting with children” and a Collaborative Family Law professional. I am an experienced lawyer with extensive experience in legal costing and litigation with a background in Commercial and Civil litigation, contested Estates and Family Law.
I regularly mediate family law disputes (parenting and/or property). I also completed the Trillium Commercial Mediation training many years ago and bring a commercial approach to the mediation of property matters. Having experienced the family law courts system myself, I understand the very deep and personal journey of separation and divorce as well as the emotional rollercoaster that accompanies family law proceedings. I also have a personal insight into the impact of Family law proceedings on children and am passionate about providing separating parties with the option of a child inclusive model of mediation.
I have undertaken further studies in religious models of mediation, including the PeaceWise training and am undertaking a Masters in Islamic Studies with a focus on family law and mediation. I am regularly invited to speak on the role of culture and religion in family law and understand the impact such issues may have on the resolution of family law matters.
I have extensive non-legal training in the human behaviour sphere and am a certified Life and Performance Coach and NLP Practitioner, an accredited consultant and trainer of Extend DISC, human behaviour specialist and accredited Emotion Code practitioner. I have been engaged by local schools, Life Matters Academy and the Islamic Sciences and Research Academy of Australia (ISRA) to present on human behaviour, relationships and well-being.
In 2020, I was listed as a finalist of the Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards “Regional Suburban Lawyer of the Year” and of the Western Sydney Woman in Small Business Growth Award
