Immediation Practice Area: Mediation
Prior to starting my career as a mediator, I spent more than 30 years with the IBM Corporation and held senior executive positions in the UK, the USA, India, Hong Kong and Australia. I have practical experience of business operations in those regions and a sound understanding of information technology and its effect on organisations and people. I have been a director and, in some cases, chairman of ASX listed companies in telecommunications, insurance, consumer goods, utilities and agribusiness. My experience includes director/chairman roles in family-owned private companies. In the public sector, I have been chairman of Sydney Ports Corporation, the Council of the National Science & Technology Centre and the Australian National Training Authority.
In education, I served on the governing bodies of the University of Western Sydney and the Australian-American Fulbright Foundation. As Chairman of the Gold Coast Innovation Centre, I spent 5 years helping entrepreneurs transform their business ideas into successful enterprises. I am a Nationally Accredited Mediator.
I am accredited as a mediator on the Mediator List of the Horticulture Code of Conduct and accredited as a mediator by the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA).
I am an enthusiast for mediation because it offers a way to resolve disputes quickly and at low cost, in a manner acceptable to both parties.
