Anna is currently a barrister at Bankside Chambers, holding over a decade of experience specialising in commercial and investment arbitration.  

Anna has worked in many jurisdictions around the world, spending some time in London as counsel in international arbitrations under the ICC, LCIA, SIAC, UNCITRAL and ICSID. Upon returning to New Zealand, Anna worked alongside leading international arbitrator, Sir David Williams, before establishing her own practice.  Her extensive experience covers a wide range of sectors and industries, including mining, construction, energy and finance. 

Anna is a Fellow of AMINZ and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) in London. Anna has published and contributed significantly on arbitration, including Williams & Kawharu on Arbitration - New Zealand’s leading arbitration text.  Anna holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge as well an LLB(Hons) and a BA from the University of Waikato.
